Social Weekend in Pendine
14 riders set off from the club on Saturday morning heading to Pendine for a weekend of cycling and social fun. It wouldn’t be a top touring weekend without some mechanical and sure enough within a few miles we had our first issue. Limping onto Carmarthen for a planned lunch (carb loaded greasy spoon) our mobile mechanic and broom wagon driver AKA Paul Rees did a sterling job in quickly sorting out the concern.
After a few other issues and a ride through the lanes we rolled into Pendine around 4PM.
Morfabay accommodation gave us a warm welcome with some much needed Cawl.
A great evening was had by all in the local pub enjoying some lovely food, music and banter. A few hardcore members rolled in around 2AM so the extra hour in bed was welcomed.
After a hearty breakfast we set of in what can only be described as interesting weather with high winds and rain forecast all the way home. Fortunately, we missed nearly all of the rain and had a tail wind for most of the journey home which included a brief pit stop in Carmarthen.

We were blown (literally) into the club around 3PM after having a great weekend.
Big thanks to all who participated and to Sarah and Paul for arranging and supporting the event.
There will more social activities coming over the next few months keep an eye out on our activities calendar for more information.
